Since I started this page back in '96 or '97, I've gotten some questions about alot of
things, most of them concerning Hole, but also some concerning me and the page.
This section of the site is a place where I explain things that I have been asked, and
also things that I feel need to be explained.

WHY THE PAGE NAME?

The title of the page comes from the song 'Mrs Jones' on Hole's first album, 'Pretty On The Inside'. This song was my favorite song for a really long time, and some of the lyrics are "cry me a river but just take me home". That whole phrase was the original name of the page, but later I shortened it to just "Cry Me A River". The reason why I picked this phrase is that when I first was making the page, I was going through some personal, emotional changes. Before, I had been really whiney (if you ask me) and depressed, and then I realized that the only person who could get me through it, was ME. So I got myself together, with a little help from a couple of friends. With this done and over with, I looked back on the previous me, and I really didn't like what I saw. I felt disgusted about this being a part of my past, and then the bitter sarcasm in the phrase "cry me a river", from 'Mrs Jones' (plus being a pretty common phrase aswell) really appealed to me, because that was now my way of looking at the me I used to be. I looked back, and all I could think "Yeah, well, boo-hoo. Life sucks sometimes, get over it, deal with it."
And since I had recently "discovered" Hole, identified with alot of the lyrics, and gained power through them, I only thought it proper to name the page after something that helped me deal with my problems, instead of whining about them.

WHY THE 'EXTREME OBSESSION'?

'Cry Me A River' has alot of different sections, and alot of them might seem quite obsessive. This, howerver, is not the case. I love Hole's music and lyrics, and performances, but this page isn't really just a tribute to the band. I mean, it still is a tribute, in the way that I want people to gain knowledge about the band here, and to show people what one of the biggest inspirations in my life is. But if I just wanted this to be a tribute to the band, I would've stopped after some biograhies, a couple of pictures, and all the other usual stuff. But I wanted to do something for the fans, I wanted to make a tribute to them aswell, for being so passionate, and I wanted it to be fun, something that kept people entertained, and kept them coming back, plus my imagination was running wild with the possibilities. So that's how some of the sections (Courtney Looks Like, Dreams, Look-A-Likes, etc etc) came to life, in the simple purpose to entertain fans, and let them share thoughts, experiences and other things.
So no, I'm not obsessive, and yes, I do have a life. :o)

WHY WATERMARK ALL THE PICTURES?

I mark all my pictures because of the simple fact that I think that if you're gonna have a page about something, at least put in the effort to do it all yourself. What's the point in stealing pictures from another site? In what way does that pay tribute to whatever it is your page is about? I'm strongly hooked on originality, and I know the disappointment you feel when you've managed to make your site really exclusive, with rare pictures and information, and someone just surfs on by, picks it all up and sticks it own their page, just because they're too goddamned lazy to do things themselves, or because they're JEALOUS, which is one of the the most stupid things I can think of! I mark all my pictures so that people will keep their hands off, or in case they steal the pictures anyway, their visitors will know how lazy and pathetic they are, for being too comfortable to scan their own pictures, or if they don't have a scanner, to ask some other webmaster if they can borrow some pictures. If you ask, and give credit where credit is due, then fine, knock yourself out. It's simply the polite thing to do.
I mean, if all pages have the same contents, then why bother to keep them up and running? One page would be enough.
If you can't be original, or at least try, then don't even bother!
