Live Through This review
By Juniper

Australian Rolling Stone Magazine included this album in their 200 greatest albums of all time and I can see why.
I like this album because it is not full of pathetic love songs. It has a raw sound, and plenty of screaming.
Right from the start Courtney gets angry. She starts off with Violet, an awesome song with a screamed chorus. Then comes Miss World, which turns on models/beauty queens. This song may be the reason for the picture on the front of the album.
The album contains many references to milk, and it is known that as a child Courtney dreamed about poisoned milk. Plump; Softer, Softest; and I think that I would die all contain lyrics about milk. There is also a couple of references to roses, in I think that I would die and Asking For It.
The guitars in this album are great. A mix of both acoustic and electric guitars are used, and it gives the album a unique sound. The drumming is also really distinctive, thanks to Patty who is a talented drummer.
This album is also defined by the sound of Courtney's voice. It is quite low and doesn't have that pathetic pop singer sound to it. No one else sounds like Courtney which makes it easy to pick a Hole song even if you've never heard it before.
This is one of my favourite albums. It doesn't matter how many times I listen to it, I never get sick of hearing the songs.
