MAY 10TH, 1995, SHEPHERD'S BUSH EMPIRE, LONDON, UK

The manager of the London Shepherd's Bush Empire has accused Courtney Love of staging "sad publicity stunts" after she invited dozens of fans up for a mass stage invasion at the end of Hole's show at the venue last Wednesday (May 10).
During the final encore, Courtney told the security men in the photo pit, "You, you, you and you get out of the way." Dozens of fans then accepted her invitation to climb onstage. Courtney subsequently left the stage as the other members of Hole carried on playing.
Venue manager Paul Buxton told The Maker the next day: "I don't like people inciting something that might put other people in danger but, fortunately, our security staff and stage crew are experienced enough to deal with it. I thought the show was great, and I wish she wouldn't keep doing these sad publicity stunts. She really doesn't need to. If they'd just keep on rocking, they'll keep doing better and better."
Asked if the Empire would be prepared to put on another Hole show, Buxton said: "Yes, definitely. It's all colorful, isn't it?"
Earlier in the show - which included a cover of Nirvana's "Pennyroyal Tea" - Courtney had twice stagedived into the crowd, and been rescued by security staff.
