Courtney seems to have yet another movie project going on. She's said she's gonna take on the role as Melanie (a police, 175 years into the future) in John Carpenter's 'Ghosts of Mars'.

March 5th:

Courtney is rumored to have yet another movie project going, this time in a movie called "Julie Johnson: Love The One She's With", or something like that. Courtney will take on the role as Claire, a woman that the main character (Julie Johnson, played by Lili Taylor) befriends and falls in love with.
Hopefully, this will not be all talk, like the whole Dawson's Creek thing.

January 29th:

Seems Eric's gonna follow in the footsteps of Courtney and Melissa, when it comes to modeling. On Feb. 5th, Eric will model Terry King's latest designs at 'Makeup' in Los Angeles, along with Twiggy Ramirez (Marilyn Manson) and Miguel Rascon, a.k.a. Meegs (Coal Chamber).

January 21st:

Way overdue news... Hole will be appearing on the soundtrack for 'The Crow 3' (as mentioned below), with the Malibu-single b-side 'It's All Over Now, Baby Blue'.

Also, Hole are being sued by Geffen Records. Hole recently dropped Geffen as their label, and now Geffen are claiming they can not just walk out on their deal, as the contract says Hole still owe five albums. (It was a 7(?) record deal when they first signed the contract, and now after 'Live Through This' and 'Celebrity Skin', there are five albums left to be recorded.)

December 10th:

According to the New York Times, a 'Rock Style' exhibit just opened at the Metropolitan Museum Of Arts, New York (December 9th). This exhibit includes outfits from celebrities such as Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Madonna, and... yes, you guessed it: Courtney Love.
The exhibit is scheduled to go on until March 19th.

December 6th:

FINALLY we can expect a new Hole video. God knows what happened to the video for 'Boys On The Radio', but I'm hearing the video for 'Be A Man' will be released before this year is over, and that it'll feature a blue-haired Courtney... Can't wait to see THAT!

December 3rd:

Courtney in the FBI?

Well, at least on the silver screen. According to MTV, Courtney will star in yet another movie, "Darker Saints", in which she plays an FBI agent who's sent to New Orleans to investigate a string of murders. Needless to say, it's a thriller. The shooting is planned to start in April next year, and I hear Courtney will also co-produce. Another Epitome Entertainment project?
I've also just heard that ist's not only going to be a thriller, it's going to be an erotic thriller... PLEASE Courtney, don't do a Sharon Stone, dammit!

November 21st:

I'm hearing Courtney Love got in a fight with Rose McGowan (also known as Marilyn Manson's girlfriend). There has been some buzzing about those two not liking eachother for a while now, but now it seems like it's official. The way I'm hearing it, is that Rose had gotten a bit too much to drink, and that she started the whole fight. When Courtney returned the 'nice gesture', one of Rose's friends grabbed Courtney and held her while Rose kept hitting. Sounds like a fair fight, no?
The whole thing ended when the bouncers broke it up.

November 20th:

Hole (or just Courtney?) will be recording a song for the soundtrack to the upcoming movie 'The Crow 3'. Let's hope they do as great as they did with the Fleetwood Mac cover "Gold Dust Woman" for the 'The Crow 2: City Of Angels' soundtrack.

From RollingStone.com:

LIGHTS, CAMERA, COURTNEY

Courtney Love is making plans to direct her first feature film after reading Bye Bye Baby, a book about the Bay City Rollers by British writer Caroline Sullivan. According to Janet Billig, Love's manager and partner in Epitome Entertainment, a Los Angeles-based production company, the singer was asked to review the book for the London Observer, and was so enthralled by it that the duo hurriedly optioned the rights to it.
The book chronicles teenage obsession with Scottish boy band, whose 1975 hit "Saturday Night" spawned full-blown Rollermania, with prepubescent fans sporting the tartan scarves and stalking the seemingly clean-cut rockers. But the band's tale is as dark as it is impressive: Singer Les McKeown was charged with reckless driving after hitting and killing a seventy-five-year old widow, both Eric Faulkner and Alan Longmuir attempted suicide, Tam Paton was jailed for committing indecent acts with underage teenagers, Ian Mitchell was treated for an overdose and Billy Lyall died from an AIDS-related illness in 1989.

"We're in love with the book," says Billig. "We think Caroline is so brave to write such an amazing book about the band. We're looking forward to making this movie."

From NME:

MELISSA'S AUF

HOLE have finally admitted that bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur has left the band, after a month of silence and outright denials.

In a statement issued yesterday, Courtney Love said:
"The fabulous Melissa is an extremely talented artist and wishes to grow in many different directions. We wish her well."

She is working on her own projects, though there is no news about whether she has joined Smashing Pumpkins as reported earlier. Hole are currently seeking a new bass player.
Hole have just recorded a new song for the soundtrack of forthcoming Oliver Stone film Be A Man called 'Any Given Sunday'. Courtney will also collaborate with Li'l Kim on a hip hop track called 'Good Girls'.

Courtney Lover is also planning her directorial debut after winning the rights to 'Bye Bye Baby' a book about teenage obsession with the Bay City Rollers by Caroline Sullivan.

WANNA BE THE NEXT HOLE MEMBER? HERE'S HOW:

MTV received the following press release exclusively which details Melissa's departure, two newly recorded songs that may appear on the soundtrack of the next Oliver Stone film, the launch of Hole's official site, the search for a new bass player, and the writing of the next album:

"Representatives for Hole have officially announced that bass player, Melissa Auf Der Maur, has left the band after five years to pursue other interests."

Speaking on behalf of the band, Courtney Love was quoted as saying, 'The fabulous Melissa is an extremely talented artist and wishes to grow in many different directions. We wish her well.'

Hole has recently come off the successful multi-platinum 'Celebrity Skin' album and worldwide tour in support of that project. The band is currently in the middle of a flurry of activity, which includes writing material for the next album, which sources say will be heavily skewed towards the rock area.

The band recently completed mixing on a previously unreleased track entitled 'Be A Man.' The track is rumored to be the subject of a major Internet initiative, which will be announced shortly. Negotiations are also underway for the inclusion of the song in the upcoming Oliver Stone release 'Any Given Sunday.'

Courtney Love is also collaborating on an original composition with Irv Gotti (Ol' Dirty Bastard, DMX, Jay-Z) tentatively entitled 'Good Girls,' with Lil' Kim sharing vocals. This track is also rumored to be slated for the Oliver Stone pic.

Courtney is also on a frenetic pace with her own movie projects, recently completing the filming of 'Beat' in Mexico, the upcoming movie on the life of William and Joan Burroughs. She will also have major visibility with the Christmas release of 'Man on the Moon,' co-starring with Jim Carrey in the filmed bio of Andy Kaufman.

Hole, meanwhile, is readying for the launch of a dedicated website, which will aggregate the Hole and Courtney Love fan sites and function as a major lifestyle portal for music and fashion. Hole representatives are currently in negotiations with major online entities.

In the interim, the band is conducting a global search for a female bass player, and is accepting submissions. If interested, please send two copies of your photo, bio describing your style & influences, and demo to:
