Said about the artwork:
Courtney: "What I want to capture is the look on a woman's face, as she's being crowned, this sort of ecstatic... uhm... blue eyeliner running, kind of... 'I am... I am... I WON! I have hemorrhoid cream under my eyes and adhesive tape on my butt, and I had to scratch and claw and, and *censored*, but I won Miss Congentiality!' And that's the essence of the sickness in this culture that I'd like to capture."

Additional info:
* Track 7, 'Credit In The Straight World', is a cover of a Young Marble Giants song.
* The last song (Track 12) was originally titled 'Olympia', but had to be re-titled 'Rock Star' when last minute changes were made to the trackslist, after the album art had already been printed. The original 'Rock Star' was taken off of the album, and replaced with 'Olympia', now known as 'Rock Star'.
* Kurt Cobain came in and helped with some harmonies. Most of them are on the album, but very tuned down, so it's almost impossible to hear, except for on 'Asking For It', in which his harmonies can be heard quite easily in comparison. There is also a version of 'Asking For It' with his vocals clear and audiable, which was played on the radio after that recording surfaced, but it's considered somewhat of a rarity.
* Backing vocalist Dana Kletter has released some material of her own. Two albums with the trio Blackgirls which she was part of during the late 80's and early 90's, titled "Procedure" (1989) and "Happy" (1991), and two albums with her mid-90's band Dish, titled "Mabel Sagittarius" (1994) and "Boneyard Beach" (1995). She has also released an album with her identical twin sister Karen: "Dear Enemy" (1998).
