i was at the hole show at roseland in new york city on may 18th, and that pit was probably the worst ive been in. im about 5'4, and weigh 170 pounds so i can pretty much hold my own in the pit, but i was getting tossed around like a rag doll. i was with my friend rob, whos about 6'3, and like 220, and he was getting tossed around too. for almost 1/2 of the show, i had some really tall girl in front of me clawing all over her boyfriend. the stupid girl nearly hit me in the face 3 times. it sucks being in short when ure in the pit. we ended up getting moved up, and some guy who decided to land from crowdsurfing decided to use me to break his fall. its not like he was a small guy either. he landed directly on me, and also managed to grab a feel as well as my shirt. that made me learn to never wear a tank top to a show again. i nearly got pinned to the ground. luckily some nice people around me helped me up. a bit later, when i went up to crowdsurf, when they were boosting me up, i lost my shoe, and then i ended up falling and nearly got trampled. i had someones foot on my chest. i though i saw my proverbial life flashing before my eyes. i nearly started to cry, i was so scared that i was going to die. luckily someone found me and picked me up. later during the concert, people started pushing up, i almost got crushed again, to the point where i hadnt any room to breathe. rob taught me this one trick where u put your fists in front of your chest which allows u the room to breathe. by the end of the show, my shirt was stretched down to my lower back. it was horrid. i saw a dozen or so other girls that way too. i was rather shocked at how the pit was. it was brutal, putting it madly. i doubt it was as bad as a lot of them, but there was just this element of madness in the air. its hard to describe. the only injuries i came out with were a few cuts and bruises, and a bruise on my chest where i got kicked. usually i just get 2 or so bruises. this time i got about 10. i counted.
