At one point she was working as a stripper in Japan, but got deported for working without a license.

Courtney had to lose weight for this part. Her diet (according to herself) was meat, tomatoes, tuna, egg whites, fruit jello and soya cheese.

Other actresses that tried out for the role as Althea were Patricia Arquette, Mira Sorvino, Georgina Cates and Rachel Griffiths. It's said that Courtney wrote a letter to Rachel, apologizing.

Courtney used to date Edward Norton (who played the lawyer, Alan Isaacman, in "The People vs. Larry Flynt"), but they broke up, but are still good friends. She's also been romantically linked to Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, Evan Dando of the Lemonheads, and Twiggy Ramirez of Marilyn Manson.

When she was born she was named Love Michelle Harrison, but when her parents got divorced, her mother changed her name to Courtney, supposedly after a friend she had while pregnant with Courtney.

She started out as penpals with Jennifer Finch before forming Sugar Babydoll with her and Kat Bjelland.

She is said to have helped to write Babes In Toyland's "Quiet Room" and "Fork Down Throat". It's also said that Babes In Toyland's song "Bruised Violet" is about Courtney.
