COURTNEY LOVE'S HOLE:

A record title became brutal reality for Courtney Love, who, with her band Hole, delivers controversial in-your-face rock.

It looks like a bizarre twist of faith that the band Hole, with Kurt Cobain’s widow Courtney Love in front, shortly after the Nirvana-hero’s suicide released a new album with the title "Live Through This".
The title has become the brutal reality for Courtney Love who now has to get used to a future as a single mother for her and Kurt Cobain’s little daughter, Frances Bean.
The provocative and big-mouthed lady has been the favorite of the American press for a long time - even before she got married to Cobain.

"The world’s greatest fuck"
When Hole debuted with the album "Pretty On The Inside" a couple of years ago, Courtney Love spoke openly about her past as a stripper and groupie, and the media-interest didn’t get any less after her marriage to Kurt Cobain.
Shortly before the wedding Cobain had spoken of her as "the best fuck in the world"... Of course it is obvious that Courtney Love and her band - where three of the four members are girls - are now a even hotter band.

Money in deaths
That there can be money in deaths and other scandals, can be seen in the fact that Nirvana’s moderate selling album "In Utero" after Kurt Cobain’s suicide, climbed from a modest number 72 to a comfortable number 27 in the American Top 100.
So you can see that the situation after the tragedy in Nirvana, hasn’t stopped the carrier of Hole. If Hole and especially Courtney Love can stand the pressure.

In-your-face rock
After that has been said, it also has to be said: Courtney can do it on her own! "Live Through This" is an album loaded with energetic and controversial in-your-face rock, that draws parrallels between the 70’s punk scene.
Some call it neo-punk while others go as far as saying that Hole, with a little luck, could’ve become what Nirvana became for Seattle-rock.
Hole actually achieved some success in their home-country after the release of "Pretty On The Inside" but the band’s activities were stopped by Courtney Love’s pregnancy.

New delay
"Live Through This" was originally scheduled to be released in January ’93 but it took almost 18 months longer than planned before the album hit the streets.
As consolation Hole released the single "Beautiful Son" in April ’93.
Now the band has been hit with another delay.
Hole had planned a European tour but that got canceled already before Kurt Cobain - shortly before he chose the last exit - OD’ed and went into coma in a hotel in Rome.
But who knows - maybe Hole will touch Danish ground when the European plans are reconsidered.
