HOLE ENDS TOURING YEAR; NEW ALBUM PLANNED During Hole's final date on the cross-Canada Edgefest tour on Wednesday night, Courtney Love told the audience in Vancouver, Canada that the show would be Hole's last for a long time, as the group will be recording a new album. The band had been originally scheduled to play the Fuji Festival in Japan August 1, a handful of radio shows a few days later, and three Lilith Fair events in mid-August, but all the dates have been cancelled to accommodate Love's film schedule. The singer/actor is scheduled to shoot the indie movie "Beat" in Mexico (see: "Courtney Love Headed To Mexico City For Beat Flick") starting July 26. It now appears that recording sessions for a follow-up to last September's "Celebrity Skin" will take place before Hole re-emerges. MTV Europe reports that England's Fatboy Slim was approached to produce the project but had to decline. Slim, a.k.a. Norman Cook, had met Hole when both acts played Australia's Big Day Out festival earlier this year. They were recently reunited at the giant Glastonbury festival in England, which reportedly led to talk about the production job.
